Between Dec 29th 2022 and Jan 25th 2023, Sonia Molino, Mario Mairal, and myself have been collecting plant specimens in New Zealand and Australia (New South Wales). This field work is framed within the recently awarded Parablechnum grant, and we had as our main objective to collect biological material for genomic library preparation, gametophyte culture, and taxonomic studies. Hosted by Dr. Peter de Lange (UNITEC) and Dr. Chris Cargill (CANB) we were successful finding the relevant species and enjoying the outstanding flagellate plant diversity of these privileged regions. Stay tuned for further developments of our research.
